    [/center:16e1ody0]

    list of tutorials plox?
    and sticky plox?

    When your pushing F5, F6, F7, F8, etc.
make sure f lock is on, which can be found at the top right of you keyboard by "pause"
if you dont have F Lock on, it will not work.

    The Stage:
understanding the stage is probably the most important thing youll need to know about flash.

    Selection Tool (V)
Lets You Select you objects to delete them, move them, convert them, etc.
    your main tool
    SubSelection Tool (A)
I don't Know exactly what this is, but judging by the name, i have a pretty good guess
    FreeTransform Tool (Q)
Lets you Change The size of stuff and rotate them.
    GradientTransform Tool (F)
When you fill your objects with a gradient, this tool lets you transform it, rotate it, etc.
    Line Tool (N)
Well, this tool makes lines *:P*
    Lasso Tool (L)
lets you take a certain amount of object out of an object, it separates stuff.
    Pen Tool (P)

    Text Tool (T)
This tool is a typing tool that gives your animation a text.
    Oval Tool (O)
    Creates Circles *:P*
    Rectangle Tool (R)
This tool is special, it creates squares. while you are creating a square, hold ctrl and down to smoothen the edges of your square to make cool looking buttons
    Pencil Tool (Y)
well its a pencil, derrrrrrrrr! **
    Brush Tool (B)
This Tool is what most people use to animate, it is a helpful tool.
    Ink Bottle Tool (S)
i don't use this one so i don't really know what it does.
    Paint Bucket Tool (K)
lets you fill in stuff ** =D
    eyedropper Tool (I)
Using this tool, it makes so you can grab a previously added color and use it again,
it wont let you grab a color that is in a symbol unless you enter the symbol, then grab it
    Eraser Tool (E)
    DEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRR
    Hand Tool (H)
lets you grab your stage and move it so your centering another part of it.
    Zoom Tool (Z)
    DERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! it zooms in stuff
    options:
this is what happens when you click on the tool and change options just below it

snapping and the line around it =P

line around it, gradient lock, and paint settings

    The Time Line:

well this may be confusing to the n00bs,
the time line includes all of your frames, you can learn more about it later in the tutorial
    it lets you:
    • ADD LAYERS
      [list:16e1ody0]
    • adds new layers[/*:m:16e1ody0]
    [/*:m:16e1ody0][*]REMOVE LAYERS
    • removes layers[/*:m:16e1ody0]
    [/*:m:16e1ody0][*]ADD FRAMES
    • F5- used when um.....well its a really long frame that connects with the frame before it.[/*:m:16e1ody0]
    • F6- copies the frame before and pastes in in the next frame[/*:m:16e1ody0]
    • F7- makes a whole new frame[/*:m:16e1ody0]
    [/*:m:16e1ody0][*]LOCK LAYERS
    • locks the layers so you CANT edit them[/*:m:16e1ody0]
    [/*:m:16e1ody0][*]CENTERS FRAMES[/*:m:16e1ody0][*]ONION SKIN

    • everyone knows what onionskin is!, if not then, onion skin is a skin that shows you what was there before so you know what you are animating from.[/*:m:16e1ody0]

when you draw a guy and activate onionskin it will look like this:

but when onionskin is activated and you F7 a next frame it will look like this:

then you get to draw him over again.[/*:m:16e1ody0][*]CHANGE SCENES

    • changes the scenes, so if you had 2 scenes, you can change from the 1st one to the 2nd one. don't worry, you can change back[/*:m:16e1ody0]
    [/*:m:16e1ody0][*]ADDS MOTION GUIDES[/*:m:16e1ody0][/list:u:16e1ody0]
    (tells more further in tutorial)

WELL IT SAYS WHAT IT DOES WHEN YOU ROLL YOUR MOUSE OVER EVERYTHING

    Properties Panel

    Lets you:
    • change the size of your stage[/*:m:16e1ody0]
    • change publish settings[/*:m:16e1ody0]
    • change your fps(frames per second)[/*:m:16e1ody0]
    • background color[/*:m:16e1ody0]

    Filters:
well first thing about filters is, you have to have a movie clip or a button to activate it.
here is what it will look like when applying filters to a movie clip.

I'm not going to demonstrate what they do because that would take to long
this is how people blur there stickguys to make it look cool.
and how they glow and drop shadow and stuff.

    Symbol:
to convert an object to a symbol, PUSH F8
    then this will come up

    you can convert it to:
    • Movie Clip[/*:m:16e1ody0]
    • Button[/*:m:16e1ody0]
    • Graphic[/*:m:16e1ody0]

movie clip- what most people use for there animations and you will most likely use it most also.
Button- what all people use to make there buttons work. to activate it, i will tell you later on in the tutorial
when you convert it, it should look like this:

the only way to change what is inside a symbol is to double click it and get inside.

    Buttons:
To create buttons, first you need to make your button which can be made using the rectangle or brush tool on your tools panel. so create your button, convert it to a symbol and mark off button.

it should look like this afterwards:

when you double click a button it should show you what is inside, but look at the timeline. its different.

this just shows you what happens when you click on a button.
Up - when nothing is on it and it is just a normal button
Over - when you roll your mouse over it
Down - when you click it
Hit - when it is selected and you cant select it no more. (most people don't use this because its for pros)

ok, so now you have your button!, but it doesn't work. so you have to click the button ONCE, go to the actions panel or just press F9. then type in these actions:

    Code:
    on(release){
    gotoAndPlay(2);
    }
    what this means is:
when you release your mouse, it will go to the frame and play
what the (2) means is that its frame 2.
if you wanted to go to a frame that is specifically named then you could do:
    on(release){
    gotoAndPlay("frame name");
    }
    but it doesn't have to play, it can be gotoAndStop(2);
that just means it will stop on that frame

now you have your button. but when the frame is activated it wont stay on the button frame, so you have to click on the frame and put these actions in:

now it should stop on the button frame and shouldn't go unless you click the button.

    Download

    Motion Tweening:

K so Say your going to motion tween this ball

so go to the frame you want the ball to stop tweening at and push "F6"
    like this:

now right click and do "create motion tween"
    like this:

now it should look like this:

now go to the end frame and move your ball where ever
    like this:

    now test your movie.
    YEY! IT WORKS!
    but it sucks!
it needs to be eased so now we gotta ease it.
click anywhere inside the tween and go down to the properties panel (don't click anything)
now click on the ease thing at the bottom and put it to how much you want it to ease.
i put mine on 60 because i think it looks best

k so now its eased and looks like this:

    Result
    Download

    Color:
ok so color is what the color effect is
and its located in the properties panel when an object is selected,

    so i have my ball.

now i went to frame 8 or nine and pushed "F6".
now go to the end frame and select your ball, go to the properties panel and make the color "alpha"

now change the alpha to a low alpha like 20 or 10.

then motion tween it and look what it does

    Result
    Download

    Motion Guidelines:

k so what motion guidelines do.
its a line that guides an object to a certain place.

    so create your ball

now convert it to a symbol and make it a movie clip.

now click on the motion guide icon.
it should make a new layer with the motion guide icon on the left side of the layer with your circle layer below it.
    like this:

now draw you guideline like i did and put the ball on the beginning of it

now i went to frame 14 and pushed "F5" on the guideline layer and "F6" on the circle layer.
now go to the last frame of you circle and place it at the end.
    now create motion tween

now ease it out and you got your awesome guideline animation!

That was very easy to follow, I liked it. It's not ultimate at all though because you hardly taught any actionscript

Oh well, what's here I like, nice one.

    Re: FallingUp's Ultimate Flash tutorial

it was far from ultimate. It taught the basics that are pretty self explanatory anyway.

@ Darren his spelling was pretty good >_> He just said "pl0x" twice.

Also, wtf is this F key you speak of. I dont have one and m F keys work fine.

It could have been good, but you ruined it by telling people how to do obvious things, and you plainly couldn't be bothered in places.

Not very good, you lack at tutoring.
    For example:

What can we learn? Utility of the pen tool? What
is it mostly used for? Can we do this? Can we do that?

    And better yet, show examples.

    Don't just say it's a pencil.
