    Paint.net tutorial (Basic)

I got a request from Frost to make a Tutorial on Paint.net, so here i go.
Its my first tutorial, so go easy on me.

First off you'll need some Textures, or Stocks, as the pro's call them.
I will be using these ones.

If you want to go by exacctly the way i have, right click them and save them as a PNG.

Also, a render is needed. This is usually a person, subject or object, cut out from a picture or wallpaper. i will be using this one today http://planetrenders.net/renders/dis...php?pos=-20182. But of course it will work well with any render. You will need to register to Planetrenders, then click on the image of the render. It will open another window, then you right click the image in that window and save as a PNG.

    Step 1:
Ok, so we're going to open up a new canvas, I use 150 Height by 500 Width, but whatever you like is fine.

So we have our blank canvas here:

Add your render by opening it, and then resizing it to whatever size you want. Put it in whatever position you would like it to be. Now we are going to make our background.

    Step 2:
Click on the Add layer button, then click on the down arrow.

The button all the way to the left is the add layer button.

Make about as many layers as the the texture you have. today we have five, so make five layers and move them down.

Now add your Textures to each layer. On all but the bottom layer, make them overlay(Click on the button all the way on the right in the layers window, and set the blending mode to overlay).

Go to Effects>Color>Color tint, And choose what colour you want each to be. If its too light, muck around with the Blending modes until you get it close to what you want.

    Step 3:

Now we add stuff to the render. Heres what i want you to do.
Duplicate the layer The button thrid from the left, the one that has 2 sheets of paper.

Go to the layer options, and set the blending mode to what you think is right, I myself like to use colour dodge, but you choose what you want.

If you want to make certain parts shine, then use paintbrush at 6 - 10 pixel width, and add a new layer. Colour the bit you want shined, and go to Effects>Blurs>Gaussian blur and blur it. If you do not have gaussian blur, go to HERE and download the zip, Extract the files to your Paint.Net effects Folder. C:\Program Files\Paint.NET\Effects should be the default path.

WHen you have gaussian blur, Blur the layer with the Shine-to-be and make the slider higher and higher till you get just the right type of shine. About 70-100 will do it.

Now we go for some effects.

    Step 4:
Go to http://www.planetrenders.net and search up "c4ds". Then save the C4D, and make a new layer Above the background textures, but below the render. Now muck around with the blending modes.

You should be finished by now.

TO add a border, simply use either the line tool, or the rectangle tool around the SIgnature, and use any distortion effect you want.

    Final result :

You should get something like that, if you fiddle around enough.
Any other questions and complaints, post them here. I will edit soon with more screen shots.

Edit: Screens will be edited it on the 29'th Of january, my internet is lagging severely.
