    Swine Flu

Obviously, no one has missed this due to its extreme exposure in the media all across the world. Headlines everywhere, experts give their analysis, everyone talks about it. The WHO raises it to a 5 on their 6 point scale. People are dying, people near you! Mexico, US, Canada, New Zealand, Germany, Spain, the UK, the Netherlands, Austria, and many more! It's everywhere!

    There's only one problem - it's all b*******.

Of course I'm not saying it doesn't exist or that it doesn't have the potential to be serious. But here are the facts at this point. We KNOW 9 people have died from it, and we KNOW about 250 have it. We GUESS that a couple thousand have it. Yes, this number grows every day. But never confuse what we know with what we guess or assume.

Regular influenza kills 9 people in the time it takes you to brush your teeth. Malaria is twice as bad. HIV is four times as bad. But of course, those aren't problems for us devoloped countries. Like the 2004 tsunami which killed a quarter of a million people was mostly covered here for the couple of hundred dead Swedish tourists, the media only cares about swine flu because it might happen to us.

Personally I'm happy it's in Mexico and not somewhere in India or China, that would be a disaster. We'll see if it gets there, hopefully it will take a while.

We have medicine that will work against swine flu. And we have enough to give everyone who needs it. And so far, the deadliness hasn't been anything special. It's flu, and if you're weak it can be a problem. For the vast majority, it's gonna be a B*tch for a while and then you'll be fine.

The more I learn the more I realize the flaws in the media. Big headlines about WHO raising the level on their pandemic scale. CNN, BBC, The Guardian and just about everyone else in the mainstream media. Nowhere are there any signs of understanding the basics of the scale mentioned - or wanting their readers/watchers/listeners to understand.

It's currently at 5. This tells you nothing other than that it's fairly high. The only difference between a 3, which it was when the media caught on, and a 5 is that it's been confirmed in two countries. The mainstream media goes tabloid on everything these days.

Instead of going "OMGOMGOMG SWINE FLU IS COMING TO GET YOU!!!" they should go "Guys... There's a serious flu going on. Be careful, lil extra hygiene and see a doctor if you get symptoms". As I said somewhere else,

    Boblekonvolutt says (19:36):
Here I am saying that people shouldnt go tabloid all over the place for the sake of $$$. Obviously I'm a socialist commie islamo-fascist. Somehow I make those 4 essentially contradictory things work together.

I've honestly forgotten about swine flu. It was the hype of August and nothing more, to me.

Same thing happened with me, I had completely forgotten about it until now. It's overated in my opinion. Seeing as it's only dangerous to the extremely young, old or people already having a sickness.

    Swine flu is bull shit.
    Who cares about it.
    It's over.
    Nothing more then a epidemic.
Not even that in my opinion.
The only people that should be even the tiniest big scared are the ones that has medical problems.

I had swine flu. I didn't die (obviously) but I think some people are underestimating it... I literally couldn't move for two days and I couldn't bring myself to walk more than ten or so meters before sitting down, let alone leave the house, for about a week.

Here are the symptoms (sourced from http://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/bhcv ... /Swine_flu)
    Symptoms
Swine flu sometimes doesn’t cause any symptoms in humans. It usually causes a short-term illness similar to seasonal flu. Symptoms of swine flu may include:

    High temperature
    Cough
    Sore throat
    Body aches
    Running nose
    Headache
    Chills
    Fatigue
    Sometimes, diarrhoea and vomiting.
To put it simply.. it sucks.

No, you're wrong. I've had both, and I felt no difference between the two. The reason there was a big deal about Swine flu is because it had the potential to become devestating. I think thunderf00t did some videos addressing it.
