    Unseen colors

So I was thinking about colors, And thought, Is it possible to discover a new color?
I know all you science geeks are saying, We can only see a part the spectrum of light and there are others like UV. But have you ever tried to think of any other color?

And that led me to think, We see color because the light bounces back and our eyes register that light into color right? So, the colors we see technically are just what our brain tells us. How do we know color even exists?

    Debate...

I've thought the same thing. Its so frustrating to think of any other
colors. All I can imagine is new shades of the old ones >_>

You know, color isn't the only thing that our brain could lie about.
(trust your head -__-).... but its possible that nothing is how you
imagine it. o_o try that one

Lol. punish your brain. "NO OXYGEN FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK!" >:O
Temperature doesn't exist. Humans made it up to explain
the warmth and chill of the world. Its a scale thats completely
    man-made.

Just like math. It's not like its part of nature.
We just made it up to make life easy.

now i don't know about sex being painful...

Ah, the whole perception versus actuality debate. Again.

We cannot quantify color. We can quantify a spectrum, but we can only express color itself in terms of other colors. This makes the idea of a color being a universal thing vague and unreliable to say the least. We cannot quantify it, so it's an inherently qualitative thing; sketchy at best, in my opinion.

You cannot imagine new colors, because you cannot see new colors. If one were to see any other form of electromagnetic wave than the visible spectrum we have, it would be something that's inherently indescribable in terms of the colors we have now.

Infrared isn't red, nor is ultraviolet actually violet. It'd be interesting, to be sure, but our brain isn't wired to understand it. Even if we're to find a way to make humans capable of detecting the spectrums, it wouldn't be in anything 'new'. It'd be in terms we could comprehend via the cones and rods in our eyes.

Unless you plan on smelling the spectrums.
