    Importance in Birthdays

Is it really important that you have a party and have the time of your lives?Or is it just a reminder that you're a year older?

It's not important at all. I don't know how the "tradition" came around and I can't be bothered to look it up, but you're a year older. Nothing more nothing less.

I think birthdays are awesome you throw a party because you got a year older. But what I think is why do they want to throw a party?

Oh, and if I remember my history correctly, the first birthday was the Sun's. I think it was the Romans who created the tradition. Something to do with the Sun being reborn as the days started getting longer again.

Nah, just kidding. Mitchezzz, do something better with your time.

When you think about it, yes, a birthday is just another day. But it's just like anything else: it's an excuse to have a good time, to cause some commotion, it's a marker. Imagine life with no Christmas, no birthdays, no weekends, no valentines day.. etc. It would be very dull.

Plus, you've survived another year! That's something to celebrate, right?
