    NASA

so, NASA is going to launch thousands of pods containing bacteria onto other planets that are likely to have the right conditions for life. the goal is to start new life on other planets, but the risks are that it might kill off other life already growing their.

Life is not growing on other planets, at least, no planets that are within our range to send things to.

Also, very few planets are even able to sustain life in the first place, so I don't see what NASA are going to achieve by this.

They're just doing what they always do. Waste money on unimportant things instead of using it to cure diseases. ^.^ it's just america trying to show how good they are.

yes I agree. I'm not sure why america wastes all their money on space flight anyway. their hasn't ever been much benefit from it.

How is this "unimportant"? It could very well determine if it would be possible to sustain human life on those planets. Fuck your diseases.

Like OB said, The chances of them finding any planets is extremely unlikey. And how would they even get people to them? Without spending millions of pounds just to get a few people into space. Lets see.
    Rid the world of cancer?
Or spend time trying to live on other planets which will never probably happen anyway.
I know which one sounds better to me

They've found planets which can sustain life. Sure they're far away but with enough work it'd be entirely possible to get to them. And when did cancer come into it?

I believe this would work better if they tested it.
Try it on one planet and then watch the effects it takes.

Yes, lets put bacteria on some far away planet and wait a billion years to see whether or not evolution takes place. Seems a complete waste of time to me.
