    Religion and a Logo

Fawad Ahmed will not wear VB logo while playing for Australia due to Muslim faith | Mail Online

An interesting thing to debate on. Do you think he should be sacked? Was he wrong in doing so?

I believe he shouldn't be allowed to play, or at least he shouldn't be paid to play. The sponsors pay the team to wear the logo, so technically he shouldn't get paid.

He was allowed not to wear the logo. It's not like he did it of his own accord.

He shouldn't get paid by the sponsor, but most of the money you get from professional sports is from advertising on TV, and from that he should be paid. I see no reason why he shouldn't be able to play, none, sports have nothing to do with branding or religion.

I think the sponsor now has the right to subtract some small sum from what they were originally paying but honestly it's like. Nbd.

I think he should still get paid. It's okay to just say "suck it up" but he's clearly against drinking alcohol. It would be supporting something he doesn't support at all so I can see where he's coming from. He'll need to have the sponsor's money taken from him but he should be allowed to play.

Yeah I agree, allowed to play but since VB is a major sponsor of the team, he should lose all sponsor benefits from VB.
