    Cheap Preloader Tutorial

    Ya so I made this cheap preloader tutorial for everyone who needs it.

    Swf: http://img261.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... utozr8.swf

    FLA of the progress bar: http://www.filecram.com/viewfile/4296989.htm

    So if you didn't understand the second part of the tutorial, check the FLA for Flash 8 and higher.

    Now questions and answer..herez!

    Note: every function as the used in the frame action pannel

    Edit:
    Example:http://img102.imageshack.us/my.php?image=lolhp2.swf

    And the Static Alternative by Toastmaster:

    gotoAndStop (2);
    };
    which basically just holds it at the first frame until everything is loaded, then it goes to the next frame and stops again (assuming the next frame is a menu or whatever)

    Nice work explaining the progress bar one, but personally I think you overcomplicated the static version.

    Since you're not displaying any type of dynamic progress, you don't need all that getbytesloaded stuff.
    All you need to do is
    Code:
    stop ();
    ifFrameLoaded (_totalframes) {
    gotoAndStop (2);
    };
    which basically just holds it at the first frame until everything is loaded, then it goes to the next frame and stops again (assuming the next frame is a menu or whatever)

    Thanks Toastmaster, I didn't know that.
    Anyway, you can see the progress bar example here:
