    how to make a button to start your animation

    ok follow this image tutorial, my first tutorial so dont be horrible

    5. type in the code exactly the same

    on (release) {
    gotoAndPlay(2);
    }

    6. click off everything, go back to the code type

    stop();

    7. make an animation the test it>>>>>control>>>>test movie>>>>click your button

    Dont just
    on(release){
    gotoAndPlay(2)
    }

    change 2 to whateverframenumber and also you can use
    on(press){
    gotoAndStop(2)
    }

    Then it wil go directly to frame 2 when you press, and it will stop also.

    Or for more control you could put the actionscript in a different layer from the button.

    Just put a name under the button's Instance Name and use that for the actionscript.

    Example:
    say the name is "main_button"

    Then use this actionscipt for the different layer on the same frame:
    Code:
    main_button.onRelease = function () {
    _root.play();
    }
