You have to buy an adapter to connect to the internet with Broadband.
Unless you have Dial Up, in which case you can just connect the phone line directly to the system.

You have to have an adapter either way, atleast on the non slimline ones.

You could have used google, this is an extremely stupid thread.

You connected an Ethernet cable directly to the console and it worked?
    I'm sorry I can't understand what you're trying to say there :0.

If you have a fat one, get an adapter. Then follow the instructions that come with that. If you have a skinny one, just plug it straight into the PS2, seeing as it comes with a built in adapter. Follow the instructions that came with the PS2. Both Ethernet and Phone cables should go into it, make sure to follow the instructions of not putting them in the wrong whole.
