    Monitor Problem

Well, This has been happening since about 2:30pm, Every time Windows XP loads up, and makes it to the desk top, usually about 5 minutes later, its either suddenly rebooted, or the monitor goes black, does not shut off, nor does the computer, the only way to recourse it is to reboot it manually, currently i am in safe mode, i can run as long as i want in safe mode without it going black or rebooting, ive heard this can happen from many things, such as a bad video card driver, or a bad Hard drive, can anyone help me?

    Re: Monitor Problem

first off, safe mode is an option you can choose to load up on that loads only the necessary drivers and programs and your desktop. also has networking and command prompt options.

Second, while the monitor going black could be because of bad drivers on a video card, (or bad hard drive) youll probably never know for sure unless you use the proccess of elimination. use a spare hard drive or video card, and find out the problem. also, is there any specific action which causes it to go black? (I.E., loading a game or internet?)

It's most likely your video card drivers.

Well, somehow it seemed to have fixed itself, all i did was play Resident Evil Online in safe mode for 3 hours, not sure what it was, my guess is that it was a bad video driver
