    Videogames made from Movies

I have noticed something. Do all videogames based from movies have to suck? is there some force or rule that only allows developers to develop so little and create games with such bad gameplay and cheesie-ness?

    Example: The Incredible Hulk.

(First of all I hated the stuff they added to the game that wasnt in the movie. Robots? The Enclave? When in the movie does the hulk fight off anything other than the army and Abomination?"

I rented this for Xbox360 yesterday to find it is only The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction with some pretty graphics and tweaks. I also played the spiderman series, but Spiderman 3 just seems to be a clone of the second spiderman game. In my experience, I have sold every game I have ever bought that was based from a movie and I have had very little reply value from the ones I still keep. What are your feelings on movie-based videogames?

Yes, almost all of them suck.

Few exeptions like King Kong and.... Uhm, cant think any other really.
They are making a Dark Knight game, and i hope oh so much it wouldnt suck, but i lover my hopes and maybe i wont be disapointed so badly.

I avoid them at all costs.

I rarely ever have money for games, so when I do end up buying one, it has to be a major release that has been looked forward to for years. Things like Fable 2, Fallout 3, Grand Theft Auto 4. Games that are almost guaranteed to be great.

Licensed games are almost guaranteed to suck, so I don't waste time on them. Simple as that.

I agree with you totally, i have all the spiderman games, and the 1st one has fucking nothing to do with the movie, especially as you cant even touch the ground. The 2nd one was good, but still didnt follow the movie.

It would be good if they did it the other way round. I saw something on msn a few weeks ago, someone wrote an article about games that should be turned into films, one of them was gta 4. I think if they made a film out of the prince of persia series, that would be fucking epic.

It's nothing new, it's already been done. Just look at the Doom movie. It sucked balls. There's plenty more, I just can't remember which exactly.

I think the two categories should stay separate for now.

Ya same, they normally end up to be a total waste of time.

Yeah yeah, there used to be exceptions. That was a long time ago, though.

When it comes down to super hero movies, Hollywood milks everything...

Commercials, comics, cereal, condoms, video games, bumper stickers, T-Shirts, Coffins, shoes, backpacks, stickers, alcohol, cigarettes, etc. etc. It's only natural.

But seriously, if you end up selling EVERY movie game you've ever owned, wouldn't that be an omen to, I dunno, NOT BUY ANYMORE?
I'm taking steps to no longer being a faggot. Oh joy.

I've learned my lesson a while back when I had about 50 ps2 games, in which half of them were movie games XD

Of course my brother bought most of them, I still learned to rent the ones that look interesting. Like Snigge said The Dark Knight, I hope they don't ruin it. Either way I'll rent it, as I know I'll get bored with it pretty soon.
