    Don't get Avast, not ever.

I used AVG and SpyBot mainly, but there is McAfee on my computer also, despite the fact that it sucks donkey dick.

The best way of not getting any viruses has always been common sense, but if your computer is a family computer, it's more vulnerable.

So? Get AVG Free, it's very good protection. I remember someone posting a thread like this one a while ago, and Adam giving out a very good virus protector, so we'll wait to see if he posts too.

And ignore what Mouth Sex said, it's not all up to common sense at all, as I've had viruses before and I'm smarter than him, and most others here. It being a family computer might make a difference if your family is stupid, this is where things like McAfee Site advisor come in useful, as it won't let you on sites it's suspicious of.

Maybe viruses know that you're a complete and utter prick, and want you to suffer.

.... Did you just say no to Avast and then say that you use AVG?......

    ......

I'm sorry something appears to be wrong here.

Avira Antivir is my favourite, it picks everything up. Avira Antivir + Spybot S&D + Ad Aware is probably the safest you're gonna get for free.

That or NOD32, that's spoken about a lot on other forums I go to.

Jack just posted damnit; the anti virus Jack mentioned Adam posting is Avira Antivir.

Lol, wtf? AVG is infinitely superior to Avast!.

    PC Advisor review for example:

In my personal experience Avast! is like a fucking sieve.

Either, I'd say. I use AVG and Darren uses Avira, and we came to the conclusion they're pretty much the same. Although I think the safer bet would be Avira as it uses up less resources.

But you don't need to limit yourself to just one.
