I've had my Xbox for like, what 4 years? And it's still pretty good. Haven't had any problems with it. :/

Just read this in this month's Game Informer, that is quite a shocker actually but to re-state, people need to take better care of their shit.

I don't think that xbox or other systems breaking always have to do with how well you take care of things.

I personally take extremely well care of my system and disks. My xbox has never had any problems and I've had it for a very long time. On the other hand though, I've gone through 5 ps2's. Literally. 5.

Another example is that I'm sure xeno takes good enough care of his possessions just by how he acts and what not, and he said he's gone through almost 2 xbox's.

I have tons of friends who take sucky care of their stuff and have never had problems. I think some stuff like this is purely coincidental.

i love the warranty on xboxes. theres 2 in my house and we've had them all red ring irreperably at least once.

just take it up the shop and they go 'red ring? NO PROBLEM' and give us a new one right there, free of charge. 2 whole hours of gaming wasted, sometimes i wish i'd paid 100 more for a ps3.

I haven't used a xbox360, but I have friends who have them. And alot of time, it seems to be the owner's fault, they leave them on all day. Just stupid.

I have a ps3, it has a pretty good system and cooling unit. I've had rare occasions of the fan having to go into a overdrive mode, and that only happens, when I'm downloading a update, or forgetting to turn it off.
Which brings up a good point, if you don't touch the ps3 for a while, it will automatically turn off. Which is a good thing.

All in all, the ps3 has the system built so it will last longer, but the xbox has a good gaming community, and it has some pretty cool features with it.

I got the RROD twice, and went through 3 boxes. The first one as about a year prior to me buying the 360. I sent it to M$, and they sent me a new one a week later. I opened the box, plugged it in, and when I went to go push the power button, RROD. So they sent me another, with 2 of the xbox LIVE trial cards for comfort. Hadn't had a problem since.
