Re: Xbox 360 at 54.2% failure rate

Crono, does yours have a hdmi socket?

If it does then It's not at all at a 54.2% risk lole.

How can an HDMI socket mean that you aren't at risk...

Xboxs are all being made the same, meaning the same hardware and all...meaning all systems are at risk at the moment until Microsoft decides to stop being the greedy bastards they are and decide to the fix problem altogether because my friend has one of the newer Xboxs and he actually got the RRoD yesterday when I stopped down at his house.

Besides, most Xboxs already come with the HDMI socket, my brother's which is one of older models has one and mine, which is the Holiday edition has one as well.

HDMI sockets are in the ones that are exempt from the 54.2% failure rate. Try reading his post before firing your guns.

Edit: He's not saying the ones with HDMI don't get RRoD , tough.

Anyway I had no idea that the Xbox had this high of a failure rate. I've had mine for 6 months now, and no problems so far. I hope that there aren't any fuck ups anytime soon.

If you leave it inside, outside of the heat and in an open area so that the fan can work than it won't heat up.

That doesn't matter...if the room you are in, that has the Xbox in it, is humid despite it being in an open area and all, the system is still going to get hot.

I figured this out the hard way when I would take my Xbox [original] games out of the 360, they would be extremely hot...and then I would feel the Xbox, and it would also be really hot as well.

So, not only would the system get hot, the brick they call a power supply also becomes really hot which is a hazard. The system is just a hazard in general, sorry to say...but it's the truth.

I think it isn't a hazard if you have a surge protector.

Surge protectors if I'm not mistaken help protect the outlet from catching fire or shocking others...that's not the hazard. The hazard is having the system or perhaps the big brick called the power suppy over-heating and causing a fire or having it cause electrical shock since if the Xbox is in an open area and the room is humid, it will start to sweat a bit, which is why people think the Towel Trick works.

Surge protectors stop surges of electricity going into said appliance......
