    Speed Runs, Time Trials etc...

What games can you do good speed runs and time trials in?

I can do pretty fast speed runs in Crash Bandicoot 2 and 3.

In games that are meant for it, like Mirror's Edge. I don't like rushing games that are meant to be played slowly.

This thread is for any games you can play fast, not just ones with timers.

I did a speedrun awhile back, wasn't an official one nor was it being recorded, but it was for Super Mario 64. Got to love those backwards long jumps on the staircases and other inclines. I was thinking of going back and doing a new one of Mario and see if I could beat the current time or not.

I was doing speed runs for Duke Nukem 3D. It wasnt anything official, nor did I care if people were better then me I just wanted to try that side of the game. I got trough first two parts of the game (for anyone that knows the game: L.A. meltdown and Lunar apocalypse) and I'm currently trying to do the 3rd part

I'm pretty fast when it comes to Sonic Adventure 2 Battle if that counts. I got an A for most of Sonic's levels on time mode.

I think playing a game enough you're able to do speedruns is pretty pathetic.
I play games to enjoy them, to immerse myself in their stories or to just have fun in an alternate reality, etc. Doing a speedrun just takes away from the experience, and is basically all about trying to be the best at something that wasn't designed for that. Put bluntly, you're being an attentionwhoring cunt.

I do think speedruns are an easy way of looking back on a game you played. The other day I really felt like playing Heart of Darkness again because I love the artwork of the levels, but didn't feel like going through all the hassle of downloading it, so I just watched a speedrun.

I can see where you're coming from, I also play a game to have fun and enjoy the story, but speed runs are a good way to have fun and get better at the game. It also a good way to amuse yourself if you have beaten the game a few times.
