    Remastering classic games? For? Agaisnt?

Well, it seems like there are times when people improve the graphics on the classic games. The actual gameplay isn't changed (except maybe fixed gltiches?). In my opinion, people should re-create more classic games because those games are amazing and deserve an upgrade and it's hard to find these classics nowadays (Well, I guess it depends where you live and stuff).

One example is the Super Mario All stars.

This SNES cartridge includes Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros: Lost Levels, Super Mario Bros 2 and Super Mario Bros 3. The game graphics are significantly improved from the original.

Here are some pictures to compare the graphics:

    Super Mario Bros. (Original)

Super Mario Bros.(Super Mario All stars)

    Super Mario Bros. 2 (Original)

Super Mario Bros. 2 (Super Mario All Stars)

    Super Mario Bros. 3 (Original)

Super Mario Bros. 3 (Super Mario All Stars)

Yep, the graphics are much better on the Super Mario all Star.
Another example is Sonic 2 HD. It is a project that is being made by Sonic fans and it's the same gameplay as the original Sonic 2 except with improved graphics (Crazy improved). I'm quite excited for this to be released; however, they've been working on this for quite some time now. Which is quite understandable because they have to recreate the character sprites, background and everything. I don't think it'll be out any time soon.

    Here are some comparison pictures:

Left: Original Sonic 2. Right: Sonic 2 HD

Sonic 2 (Original) - Emerald Hill
    Sonic 2 (HD)- Emerald Hill

Sonic 2 (Original) - Final Boss

Sonic 2 (HD) - Final Boss

The improvements are amazing. I really am excited for the game to be released. What do you think about re-created games? A waste of effort or a way of playing a classic game mixed with something new? Is there a game you want remastered? Opinion?

Re: Re-creating classic games? For? Agaisnt?

Yeah, classic games deserve remakes. But only if they really are classic games.
Mario: ehh. It's old, and well-loved, but as a game, I don't like it. The playing mechanics and concept
just don't work well with the new media of gaming. Jumping on turtles doesn't compare to killing terrorists
    anymore.
Some games, like Fire Emblem, at least in my own opinion, are great enough for remakes. We still
play that style of game, examples being: Halo Wars, TC: Endwar, etc...

Classics like Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy, and all those great all-time-favorites need to be remade
at some point. The pokemon games are another good example, but they're still making those anyway (:

I'd love to see the first series of pokemon remade exactly the same with pearl/diamond/platinum graphics. That'd be great.

As long as it's only a graphical reboot, then they usually turn out awesomely.

    I really wish they'd remake FF7. :CCC

I agree. I'd love to see classic games remade more often. Replaying my favorite classic RPGs would be so awesome. Hell, I've wanted Square Enix to make a new game with old sprites for a long time now. I'm all for recreating old games, and recreating them well.

This. I've never played it, but I know all about it.
I just don't have the right console to play it, so if there was a remake, I would
    be able to.
And it needs a serious graphical update.

Oh my god, I remember that as being one of my first games. I didn't understand it, but fuck, it was fun as shit.

Anyways, like others have said, The early FF series, early Pokemon, and a Few PS1 games, such as the first MGS, RE2, or MAYBE the first armored core.
