    Dual Monitors

Just something I am working on. I want dual monitors mostly because I find them easy to play games on and they appear to be very reliable. As well as the fact that my dad needs them for his own comfort when doing work because he's an engineer.

Anyways, to do this would I need a new graphics card?

Would there be any settings I would need to adjust?

    Any precautions I should take?
Can you recommend any good products?

As a precaution, you should make sure the 2nd monitor fits all the specifications of your computer.
The first time we got one, it was the wrong type, and had to be returned.

My house has an Acer monitor, and its amazing, very high quality and bright.

Thanks for the advice. I did some looking around and found out that Acer, Samsung and LG have some very good monitors. I am aiming for a samsung monitor from about 17-20".

Anyways, aswell as finding that out I just saw that I needed a graphics card that supports multiple monitors, which I have at the moment. Now I think I need a VGA converter which would change it to DVI.

I think I've got this all wrapped up. Anymore suggestions before I request a lock?

As long as your GFX card has 2 video out's, it's fine.

^^^ I really don't see the HUGE ASTOUNDING benefit of dual monitors unless your a developer/coder which not many of us are, I know Skype has them but I'm almost positive he codes php. Correct me if I am wrong Skype...

The only way I would go multi-monitor is for Eyefinity for gaming, and even then that takes 3 monitors, kicks ass if you have the money to blow.

Eyefinity is the stupidest shit ever, there is no point in buying $1000 worth of screens for playing games when you could have a projector for much less. Only point in dual screens is for having an extra screen for all the tools/reference and one for the main editing/coding

Go find a projector with a 5040x1050 resolution.
