Wii - Possibility for improved graphics?

Nintendo has responded in shock and are seeking to improve the quality of their new LOZ game to compete with this.

Nintendo is able to show decent graphics on the Wii.

Monster Hunter 3, an impressive new game that shocked Nintendo:

How far do you think Nintendo is going to push their underpowered system?

I don't know, but Monster Hunter 3 is the funnest game I've played in a looong time. I didn't even think it had great graphics, lol. But if it's inspiring Nintendo to make better looking games, then awesome.

I think it'll be ignored, I wouldn't get too excited about it.
Anyway, the graphics are still really bad if you click on the 'full-size'

    What game is that btw?

[e: Oh, Monster Hunter, is it?]

    Brad: yeah, lol.

And it's still only as good as some of the worst 360/PS3 games.

The Wii is a novelty for those who are so young they haven't developed the motor skills to play a proper video game, or for those so old that they've lost those motor skills. I don't even consider it a console, even if they do try and make the graphics better. At best, it's a terribly dysfunctional internet browser.

Looks like Wii developers finally realised dynamic lighting/shadows exist.

Lolwut, that's not even dynamic lighting, that's just compiled lightmaps, a sprite sun, and the only thing that has normal maps is the water, and it's not even reflective, and I'm going to guess there's color correction. Guessing from the blurry textures, there might also be some bilinear DOF, and that's it.

The Wii has a long way to go with regards to graphics, level designers on the other hand can come up with some good stuff art-wise.
