Announcing Stick Nodes - Mobile Animation App

Wow, DarkDemon.org. Well, Animator.net now, but whatever, same thing.

No one here will remember me except a small handful, but I'm a very old member of the forums. I can't even remember the last time I made a post here.

Anyway, Pivot is what got me started in a lot of the nonsense that I'm doing today and for that I'm very grateful. I've always been fascinated with animation, both in Pivot and with Flash (though I've had to put it aside to focus more on game development in the past years).

But good news, I've finally been able to combine those two passions into one project.

Announcing StickNodes, a powerful stickfigure animation program created with mobile devices in mind.

It's not released yet, but being that it's nearly complete, I figured it was a good time to get the word out a bit. I figured the DarkDemon community would be the best place to start.

You can see some features, screenshots, and videos on the official StickNodes website: StickNodes.com.

You can also follow the development on my site or by following me on Twitter.

Anyway, so what's good DD? How's it been? Any questions/feature requests for Stick Nodes? No promises since development is nearing the end, but I plan on releasing updates to the app once its released so I'll be noting down all comments / requests.

There was much more change that you could imagine...

Animating on the phone seems like an excellent idea for me, you should have a word with Peterbone.

Yeah, I sort of kept up with things - checking in now and again. Apparently the site changed owners a few times and things are just going down hill due to negligence, at least that's how I understand it right now.

i imagine that it would be a bit hard to animate on a phone (depends on the size), or?
i personally prefer a stable seat in front of my pc to animate instead of standing/sitting in bus, maybe and trying to animate this way
    it's a good idea anyways

    Hey EpicFail.

I can say from experience with the app that it is different animating on a mobile device. I'm also used to using a keyboard and mouse.

It's better on a tablet, that's for sure, but with the canvas-zooming ability it makes it a lot more bearable than you'd think when using a smaller device.

Always good to see a fellow oldie.

But yep the community has moved on to both new forums. AA being more of a generic art forum and TDD being the classic Pivot forum.

Wow, can't believe you're still around. I somehow remember you being one of the first ones to comment on my old pivot animation thread. I believe you said I was "definitely intermediate."

You have no idea how much that still means to me, *single tear drop*.

    @EpicFail
Wow, tisfat, that's a name I haven't heard in a while. Anyway, thanks for the kind words, hoping on having another update before / during the weekend. Things are wrapping up quite nicely.
