    Fall of Oblivion (creative, right?)

    I was on Facebook the other day and I saw that Oh Sleeper had released a new song called 'Endseekers'. The lyrics were so powerful that the inspired me to write my own little song. I attempted writing it in a similar style to them, although in my song I talk about something that I experienced in my own life. Remember, this is highly metaphorical, and even the metaphors contain hyperbole. For those of you who know which DD member this is about, you'll get an idea of what happened.

    [center:bmi78fhw]Fall of Oblivion

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    With grace we merge with mortality,
    Straining our eyes for the blood of the culprit
    Who reaps the harvest we once rightly feared.
    Yet you taught me to fear nothing!
    If not for these cries you disguised,
    Such hope would not be so contrived.
    We're taught to believe and trust that you would be everything.
    But now we perceive that you left us all to drown in this sea!
    You never said that you'd leave!
    Nor had we prepared to breathe,
    Not without you. You betrayed us!
    Despite that you made us so blind,
    Did you really think we'd forget that
    You came and you left with our lives?
    Though I've fought and I've died, It doesn't grant me apathy.
    It came to be that "As you wish" was what you last said to me.
    We've fought for you so long, til we reduced to nothing,
    To fallen martyrs that you tread under your feet.
    I have tried to survive, as long as you'd let me be.
    What makes you think you can determine my destiny?
    Did you think the dead you lead to slaughter would forgive you,
    Any more than the smoke of their torment forgives the flames?
    So why try absolve yourself from your own orchestrations
    When you stand knee deep in a sea of their organs?
    If this is your legacy, then tell me how you can repay
    all those days I spent contemplating my reach.
    They were part of me, yet I leave me no choice!
    But to cast this inception to the call of the carrion.
    Until those final days, you will remain in oblivion.
    And once more I close my head from your sight.
    Your eclipse is fading.
    That was extremely powerful. I think it works much better as a poem though, as a tune would only take away from the meaning of the words in my opinion.
