    Any Drummers? :P

    Yeah so I got a 5-piece Pearl set, and it's fucking awesome. However, I suck balls. I would appreciate any tips from any other drummers on DD for this poor nub. :P

    One handy thing I figured out is, if you want to get rid of the buzzing snare, put 2 folded sheets of A4 paper between the cords and the base of the snare. w00t.

    Specifically, what I want to know is: are the toms supposed to vibrate so much after you hit them?

    Well, I don't play drums, but aren't toms supposed to have a lower sound than snares (But not so much as kicks)? If so, they might have a bit more vibration. If not, tune them. Also, it might help if we know what kind of tom it is, mid, mid-low, floor, etc. etc.

    Want a sig like the one above? I am taking requests in my thread here...

    Aha, never mind, you answered my question well enough before that anyway. :P I was talking about the toms above the bass drum.

    Thanks to DS for that too... lol.

    i've tried drums before and what i do as a beginner is get used to a simple beat then add more to it, and see what fancy sounds you can make.

    Erm...there is an easier way to take the snare off. There should be a latch that looks something like this.

    Pull the latch out, and the snare beads will drop, causing it to stop buzzing.

    And that is about the extent of my drumming know how.

    I played the drums for a year or so, but then just stopped because I didn't like it that much.

    A few tips would be;
    -To be more loose for rolls and such, take your pinky finger off the sticks.
    -Buy a metronome to help with the beat.
    -Play each song much slower at first to learn the notes, then play for the correct speed.
    -Work on using the bass drum a lot, if you're bad at that, everything sounds bad.
