    A good starter song

I'm going to start taking some guitar lessons, and i've heard from the person who is going to teach me and he said that if there is a certain song i wish to learn i should bring it on a CD. I'm just wondering if any of you know what could be a good song to start learning. I've thought about maybe a song by Dashboard confessional, but some of my mates have suggested things like old Brand New songs and one suggested oasis.

    Try some AC DC riff.
TNT, Back in Black, Highway to hell.
Or any other riffs that is easy for you.

Look at songs you normally wouldn't listen too.
I have noticed, you find awesome riffs that way.
Sure, you may hate the band or genre, but if you find a good lick in a song you don't like, you tend to not stick to one style. Also, I call them 'Everybody Outta Know' licks. For example, listen to some older jazz, and you'll find some of the best licks. And later, when you're learning another song, you'll find out it's the same lick. ;D

    Good luck.

Something by Green Day would be pretty good, mostly power chords, and easy chords.
