    I'm going to....

Take guitar lessons, and I need to know some things before I do:

    1) Of course, to play guitar, I'm going to need a guitar. So, please recommend any affordable guitar, that's decent quality, for someone on a budget.

    2) I need to know some good guitar books that will help me learn. Also, please tell me some songs that would be good for a beginner to learn.

    3) Finally, anything else you think I may need to know.

    Thanks :P

Lol, playing guitar is actually kinda easy. Just have to know your cords, how to get to them elsewhere and make the same sound, and the fret you're on >_>

anyways, http://www.guitarcenter.com/Guitar.gc is probably your best site to get one off. You can browse guitars on the left, like types and brands and whatnot. Also you can search for price ranges, so I'd look there

Learn accoustic before electric if budget is an issue.

Acc before electric is also what I reccoemnd for anyone starting guitar, it's better imo.

I wouldn't bother getting most books, unless it specifically says "basics" on the title. Most music books you'd buy at a music store are these impossible-to-grasp, vague hippie-philosophies on celestial auras sending the perfect note to your fingernails. Or something. All written by scandinavians with unpronouncable names. The internet is as good a resource as any for reading material/sheet music.
