Brit-rock and Degenerating Styles of Crap.

So, this has been bugging me for a while.

It seems that today, all British rock bands can come out with is basic, BADLY (and I mean fucking horribly) sung piles of nothingness. Prime examples are The Fratellis, The Libertines, The Babyshambles and The Arctic Monkeys. This kind of music is generally badly thought up and often has no actual point other than to perhaps upset myself and other lovers of actual music.

Now, I'm not saying that is always the way Brit-rock turns out, bands like Muse and Keane (I may be wrong, I've only heard their older stuff) have managed to shake off the terrible stench that apparently follows British acts. But we have new acts appearing now, people that use more traditional instruments (Tambourines, Saxophones and Trumpets) but keep the same, horrid voice (and possibly even worse?). These acts have started to pop up all over the place and surely it can only get worse? VV Brown is a massive example of this (obviously here she has a backing track but when playing live she has a band with her). What in the world possesses somebody to do this?

So, opinions? Does anybody actually LIKE this stuff? If so why? And do you think British Rock will ever get out of the hole it's digging itself?

    Discuss.

I think we're on the same page.

Are you on about how any "Indie" band that sings (Talks..) with a London/Scouser/Cockney accent somehow gets their own label?

No idea about Brit-rock, but I have heard the Artic Monkeys. Their drummer is good, but the music is annoying, and the singing is boring and monotonous.

You are. Britain encompasses Northern Ireland, England, Wales and Scotland.

The only "Indie" band I can stand is Maximo Park.

    Alright.
Britain was years ago one of the best rock lands.
Now they suck. To be honest.

One example.. Mika (is that even rock-ish it's more like pop)
    Mika. I fucking hate it.

If you want to get really technical, Mika is Lebanese.

Britain has some pretty good bands:
Blur, Take That, The Darkness, Funeral for a Friend, Franz Ferdinand, the Kaiser Chiefs (Loving the new song Never Miss a Beat) Oasis, Muse.

That's not even counting the Beatles (One of the best selling band of all time) the Rolling Stones and Queen.
