Bob Dylan, (not really unsung) but nowadays a lot of people have heard of him but don't really know him, which is a massive shame because he is one of the greatest singers/composers of all time. period

    Amen for Captain Beefheart

Hell, Trout Mask Replica is probably one of my favorite albums ever, and his other stuff isn't too shabby either. I don't even have all his CD's since some of them are nearly impossible to find unless I get lucky at a used CD store.

Anyways, Jackson Browne. Probably the best songwriter of all time, and half of the stuff he wrote was for the Eagles and Byrds, so he rarely gets all the credit he deserves.

Also, Stevie Ray Vaughn to some extent. Most people know him as a good blues guitarist, but not many people really understand how awesome he was.

How many people know the majority of Bob Dylan's music or what impact it has on current music?

    This.

Most people I know just make fun of his alias, as it has the word Bob in it, and they don't know any songs by him. It just shows how cultureless the world is beginning to get (Well, England at least).
