When done right and in good context, pig squeals own. Unfortunately, 99% of the vocalists that do pig squeals fail at implementing them in a complementary style. They really shouldn't be used as the one and only vocal style. They're a nice effect and add variety, but using them as the primary style throughout a song is retarded, quite as bad as whoring double bass or 7 minute guitar solos. Suicide silence's guy knows where it's at. Maybe cryptopsy, lord worm, not the new guy, too.

As Darren stated, when overused or used incorrectly, they don't add anything good, go listen to furtive monologue, there is a pretty mean type of squeal about 1 minute (give or take) into it.

If you want some sickly break down pig squeals try Despised Icon.
I really like pig squeals actually, I never really tried too but I can actually scream Jamey Jasta style.

I learned how to just so I could scare people with it lol. It really isn't that hard, just look at some tutorials or something. I don't really even like pig squealing honestly, it's just fun to do at random times :P

It's not really my thing, although Darren is right, when done properly and in the right context, it works somehow.
I prefer death metal growls, although that works in pretty much the same way, it's only right when done at the right time with the right music.
