    New artists

Since most of the threads get only a few replies, let's get a good share thread going. Post newly found artists, or musicians that haven't been mentioned on the forum. Underground and mainstream welcome, just post something that hasn't been seen before.

    I'll start:

Pelican - Fucking AWESOME instrumental Post-metal/rock. Heavier than a fucking boulder when they get going, they're coming out with a new album later this year.
Dead Between the Walls - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-P8LI1UJQNI

Nujabes - Chill Jazz rap from Japan, I highly recommend their album Modal Soul.
    Feather - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZaV-33XSHY

The Mars Volta - Badass Progressive Rock from Texas mixed with a bunch of genres like Jazz Fusion, Experimental, and psychadelic rock.
    L'Via L'Viaquez - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2ayKK8E7gc

Well, since the Blue Scholars just released a new album I thought Id look a little deeper into Seattle hip hop.
I already knew about Common Market, Def Dyme and Grayskul, but I found some cool artists like Grieves, The Physics, and Cancer Rising.

Im goin to Bumpershoot later today to see De La Soul and Dye Def.

The Mars Volta is really good. One of my favorite bands atm. They're kinda like Tool was for me, great once you get into them, but the first couple listens didn't really do anything for me.

I don't know if I'm into any bands to contribute to the topic right now, jsut wanted to say that

I sure hope someone here has heard of MC Rut (Middle Class Rut).
I've seen all their concerts here in Sacramento.
But they're great. Their hit "New low"
Here are a few of their songs

Pelican are an ace band, I must say Cosmonaut that you have a taste in music not unlike mine.

Anyway, Godflesh are ace, their song Anthem is brilliant, and so is Jesu, Justin Broadrick's next band, whose song Silver is my favourite at the moment. Also, MONO are an ace post-rock band, their song Follow the Map is a masterpiece.

All the posts in the thread have been awesome guys! Let's keep it going.

Baroness - Similar to Mastodon in terms of genre, they bring some new stuff to sludge metal like acoustic interludes and experimental tendencies. I recommend all of their EP's, the Red, and upcoming Blue album.
    Isak - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sc_SEBcXs1o

King Crimson - Progressive rock from the late 60's/early 70's. In The Court of the Crimson King is pretty famous online, but some people have never heard of them. Similar to Pink Floyd in many ways.

The Avalanches - An electronic project from Australia, they use samples from different records to get an extremely original sound.
    Since I Left You - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfAuFAgHpzc

My brother is huge into this band, he has a few CD's and he's always pushing them on me =P

IMO they're pretty good. They have a unique sound.
