    Rocking Out!

Hey everyone, I'd like to get some feedback from you guys on this.

This May my friend Steven and I played some snippets from different songs after a band concert. The whole deal was originally intended to be a drum solo, but since my friend was graduating and moving to Florida for college, we decided to jam for the last time.

    The video goes as follows:
Guardians of Asgard by Amon Amarth
    Drum solo
    Perfect Insanity by Disturbed
    Drum solo
Enter Sandman by Metallica (Which I rushed terribly)
    Drum solo

During my first solo, I lose one of my drumsticks, but I recovered and continued with only one until the one I dropped was handed back.

Wrong beat and doesn't give it the feel of the original track. It's supposed to be a slow dredging beat to give a feeling of fighting/slow marching. The other songs were fine and the drum solo was nice besides dropping a stick. Just gotta put a shit ton more power into playing it + not play a generic rock beat for a melodic deathmetal song.

I see what you mean. However, in this case, the song was not very well rehearsed. I never really learned the original drum part, and the entire ordeal was a spur of the moment deal. The only reason we really played that song was because my friend liked it.

The original is actually very easy. I got it down within a few tries. The main thing is just the double bass fill that is kinda hard at first if you're just learning it. I've also been playing for 10 years so I have sort of an advantage I guess. Understandable reasoning, though.

Listening to it right now. The drum part is very easy, and I could play the double pedals easily. I've been playing seriously for about 2 and half years now. Anyway, thanks for the tips and advice.

Yes, it's a Pearl, and it's the school's set. It's equipped with Sabian and Zildjian cymbals.

Ah nice. Playing on a Pearl forum here. Gotta get a new set though because mine's been in storage for a year and the humidity wasn't monitored and ruined everything T_T. Reason it was in storage was because I was at my school enough to use theirs.
