Top 5, from favorite to lesser.

    1. Pulp Fiction
    2. Godfather (1 and 2 really, I'll just bundle them together)
    3. Shawshank Redemption
    4. 12 Angry Men
    5. Casablanca

Star wars and Lord of the Rings are definitely up there but they're trilogies so y'know.

Congratulations: You are the king of entry-level! Now, it's time to get into arthouse so you can impress people with the vast amount of cinema-based information you know! But beware: Hipsterdom is right around the corner!

    Wild Strawberries
    Les Quatre Cent Coups
    The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari
    Meshes of the Afternoon
    Pan's Labyrinth

What? I like a lot of movies. Who cares if my list is somewhat generic, at least the movies on the list are great.

It was mostly a joke, and it seems as if you inferred I thought the films were bad. The majority of them aren't, however, the large majority are films that are just rather shallow in terms of how easily they are found. I really didn't mean more than that. I certainly enjoy films that are harder to find, so I guess I am biased towards those.

In my opinion, the stuff that you have is like gold. The stuff, if you continue digging deeper and finding new directors that are involved in past and future art film, is like diamond.

I have seen a few of unknown films but they just don't satisfy me as much as the really good popular ones. Eraserhead is pretty unknown but I loved that movie.

I loved Fargo. The Coen brothers are incredible and completely underrated.

    Depends from whom.

From the public, I would tend to agree. From the critics, not at all.
