I listen to them because Maynard is the main lyricist (and he's the singer too)

    Great band nonetheless.

A perfect circle was AMAZING. I can't even describe how awesome it was. It was a friggin experience, not a concert. If you guys get the chance, you NEED to see them live. It will be the best night of your entire life.

I love APC so much and I'm so happy you got to go see them.
Honestly had no idea they were still playing or active at all.

I have all their albums and even some unreleased stuff. I would probably be willing to pay 6 month's wages to see them live.

Question though: In all the live videos I've seen, Maynard seems like a very strange person. Nasty dreadlocks, onstage while in his underwear, drinking as he's singing, and just being very awkward etc.

Did he do anything that struck you as really strange? Because in some videos he seems perfectly normal :/

Lol, Maynard was fully clothed when I saw him. He had some weird dreads, and stayed in the back of the stage, behind the bass player. He was the only one without a spotlight. He did some funky "Maynard dances" every once in a while, when he wasn't singing.

I think he's a pretty funny guy, and tries to teach his audience not to judge by appearance. I also think it's awesome how he refuses to be in the spotlight, because he wants you to focus on the music, not the person. In alot of bands, the singers are attention whores that prance around like idiots.

Again, it was one of the best experiences of my life, and I recommend it to everyone, especially the hardcore fans. Even if you're not a fan, you'll be easily converted into one

    Well then, good to hear

Yeah I've heard that the best way for him to recreate the passion and emotions for the music is to be in a dark place, away from all the attention. Much respect for that

Did they play any acoustic? Also, how much was your ticket? Can you remember the songs they played?

    Re: A Perfect Circle

No, all the songs that were supposed to have acoustic parts were just played with clean guitars. My ticket was 55 bucks.

They opened with Annhilation, but with some cello type instrument in the beginning too. He sang it instead of whispered. It was the perfect opener, we couldn't wait to hear what would happen next when it ended.

The setlist went something like this...

    Imagine
    Weak and Powerless
    The Hollow
    What's Going On
    People are People
    The Outsider
    Rose
    Peace Love and Understanding
    When The Levee Breaks
A really weird remix of 3 Libras
A softer version of Gimme, as Maynard hates screaming live
    Orestes
    Passive

When Passive ended, Maynard said it was about the time to leave the stage, grab each other's asses for a few minutes, then wait for the audience to cheer them back on to play some more songs. (lol) He said he was gonna skip that part, and just go straight to playing more songs to save time.

    Counting Bodies Like Sheep
    Fiddle And The Drum
A new song, By and Down

Some people were pissed because they played alot of covers, and left out Judith. I loved Emotive, and the setlist was still great without Judith.

Wow I would pay so much more than that, great deal.

Sucks they didn't play The Package, it's one of my favorites. The build up is just so powerful. Lol the missing encore part sounds hilarious!

Anyways, great job with the list, seems like a great show.

A friend of mine met Maynard in person at one of his wine tastings.
I live in Southern California so maybe I can make it to one sometime
