    General Metal Thread

Due to the large confusion in the Death Metal thread as to what is Death Metal and what isn't. I decided to make a general metal thread.

Talk about any kind of metal.

    Re: General Metal Thread

Two threads are better. Keeps the Death Metalers in their own thread, and everybody else and them can chip in here.

    Re: General Metal Thread

Liam, shut up. That whole other thread was a mess.

Anyway, anything "industrial" (whatever that means), symphonic, heavy and I guess like, grungy stuff if such a genre exists. I can't stand fast paced metal and screamo voices. Sounds stupid to me.

I LOVE and have loved Nightwish for years. I adore Rammstein, really like some Disturbed, Slipknot, etc.

I don't know what the genres are, I just like the deeper/more powerful/slower/grungier/understandable metal, whatever that may include bands-wise.

    Re: General Metal Thread

I was actually thinking of making a thread like this myself.
Anyways, I don't like that many metal bands really. I like Rammstein a lot, Sabaton, Dragonforce, Drowning Pool and some Serbian metal bands.
But it's just that I don't like when they scream or have highly pitched voices in their songs so I cant really enjoy many metal bands.

    Re: General Metal Thread

Is Legion of Doom and/or Escape The Fate considered metal? I also used to like some Slipknot and Disturbed songs. With Slipknot I specifically liked the parts in songs like Wait and Bleed where there wasn't any screaming, but just regular singing.

^Escape the fate is mainly screamo. I loved all their old songs.

Some of AILD and Slipknot songs are awesome.

    Re: General Metal Thread

A general metal thread, finally! I listen to a majority of sub-genres of metal. I'm not too picky when it comes to vocals. It doesn't matter to me whether bands have high pitched vocals or deep guttural growls, I like both.

Anyway, I don't know how many of you are really into power metal, but I've been giving this group called Battle Beast a fair amount of listening time lately. I believe they're a fairly recent band to emerge, and I don't know if it's just me, but they seem to have a sort of old-school style, which is really neat.
