The Perks of Being a Wallflower

So I was just forced to watch this movie by my two female friends, and I was incredibly shocked. I thought it was going to be some girly, mushy, sappy love story like every other form of social media popular among teenage girls. I was pleasantly surprised. Though I'm almost ashamed to admit it, I really really enjoyed the movie. I thought it was very well done, Emma Watson put on an excellent performance, and the retro feel present throughout the movie was a delightful touch. Overall, though, I just thought it was an excellent movie to my complete and utter surprise. Has anyone else seen it/experienced the same revelation? I was kinda hoping I wasn't turning gay or something.

I dont see how liking a movie makes you gay. Anyway i've watched it with a friend as well and i thought it was a really good movie, just not extremely appealing because i couldn't really relate.
She told me that the book was quite a lot better though so i'm going to read it.

That was a joke but w/e. I mean I'm not exactly someone who could relate a whole lot either but I still thought it was really good.

It's a beautiful movie, read the book as well, it's about on par with it or better. So good.

I really want to see this. Until now purely because Emma Watson is in it, but if it's really good then that helps extra-justify watching it. :P

Will report back when I have seen it.

The only reason I know this movie exists is because one of the actresses (Mae Whitman) also voices Katara in Avatar.

Just watched this, a really good movie. I gotta say I kinda wished he had actually killed himself or something in the end.
Also, they were all hipster scum with generic taste in music, psh.
