Re: Raymond's Thread - Hot Air Balloon

Thanks guys, I've been trying to improve with each animation, but I think I'm ready to move on to flash. I just need some time to get used to it's interface. Which btw Kellawgs, I haven't got any progress on that joint yet, but I'll try to sometime tonight.

Your hot air balloon animation is no doubt inspired by me:

Anyway, why is the underside of the balloon a triangle?

Re: Raymond's Thread - Hot Air Balloon

Actually thats the first time I saw your hot air balloon animation. Although it does look pretty close to what I just made. Good job on it man, I really liked it. The color makes it stand out more.

Also, the reason the basket is shaped like a triangle on the bottom is because the basket itself is a triangle. If you look at the support bars above the basket, theres 3 bars that form a triangle shape as well. I was hoping it would be a little bit more noticeable, but yea...it's because some hot air balloon baskets are triangles and some are squares. I felt more creative making it a triangle. :P

I mentioned when I released it that the bird stk is not yours, but based heavily off of yours so, if you like, credits to Neo for the bird.

@Raymond: Thanks for the compliment. ;]

I noticed that you changed the angle randomly. When it's zoomed out, the view of the basket is on one of its sides, so its a square, then when it's zoomed in the view is on one of the corners. Not that big of a deal but just something to keep in mind when going for consistency.

I can't believe I didn't notice your post till now lol. I made it that angle while it was zoomed in because I thought it was easier to work with the bird, rather than having a total side view of it. Plus it gave me a bigger ledge for the bird to land on. It does look weird though going from a side view to an angle like that. Thanks for the advice man, I'll have to work on that.

Wow this looks better than I expected, the effects were really cool and smooth, the movements are done pretty well too, I liked the part when that guy punched the ice, it was pretty cool, shame you didn't animate more on this, it's awesome
