How is the joints being static gonna be improved by making it longer?

Anyhow, your pretty much low beginner. Where most of the animators here started off as.

Your gonna wanna read up on the term easing, this is the most important basic that you must learn to start making animations awesome.

    viewtopic.php?t=27299

This tutorial covers easing. If you download some of the best animations on the site, you'll see they ease every joint through out the animation.

Don't apply easing to one segment on a stk man, i.e. an arm. But everything. Be sure to read tutorials on how to do simple movements like walking and running. Then go to more complicated movements using the basics at all times. Your animations will improve dramatically.

    Good luck, keep practicing!
