Courtezy is post on other guys thread, like: he post in your thread and at the end of the comment he says : "Courtezy???", and then you must go on his thread(normally at the sig) and post a comment about his animations, do you understand? Btw, on you anim, they're really cool, seem you already are good, but must learn the basics, read baha's tut (in my sig there is a link) you must start using easing, and do realistic movements, how gravity too?? And fix some stiffnes too, overall, low-med begginer, you'll be interz in no time!

Courtezy?? - go to my thread and comment on my stuff

Re: how good am i at this?

(I apologize for the huge post in advance, I tend to be long-winded sometimes.)

Wow! I'm impressed. When I first clicked on this thread I thought you were just another crappy noob, but when I saw your animations I was proven wrong. For someone who's never been to DarkDemon before, these are really good! Even your first is very good as far as first animations go.
That being said, you're not amazing, and really you're not even exactly "good" yet, but you're great for a beginner! You're somewhere between low and med beginner right now.

First of all, drop the sprites. People here absolutely despise sprites and you will never gain acceptance if you use sprites in your animations, besides, they're kind of cheating anyway.
Second, check out Baha's Tutorial in the Tutorials section of the forum. It's a really good tut and it helps a lot of people just starting pivot get better.
Since Baha's tut covers anything I would say here, I won't go into detail about these, but these are the main things you need to work on:

    1. EASING! This is probably the most important part of making smooth animations. Without easing, your animations will look choppy. Baha's tut explains easing very well.
    2. Shakiness. This just means keeping your motions steady and making sure the sticks don't twitch around. Shakiness can contribute to choppiness.
    3. Stiffness! This is something that beginners tend to have a hard time mastering, because when your animating it's hard to keep your sticks in motion 100% of the time, but it's not impossible. The best way to get rid of stiffness is just to move every joint on the stick every frame, so it looks more real and less mechanical.

Those are the things you should focus on the most right now. Remember, check out Baha's tut. It will help you improve on those things and a lot of others aspects of your animations too. Happy animating!
