Re: .SLide - New thread! - I Return Courtesy.

I don't really know how to say this, but the animation wasn't fluid enough. He jumped, and then, rather than moving the joints more to where they were last frame, you made them go straight down. This made it look very choppy. I would compare this to tweens in flash. I mean, the movements were good and had proper easing themselves, but the parts between the movements (going from one movement to another) lacked easing. I'd recommend you to move the joints to where they were last frame (not totally, just more than you do now). This would make it loop sloppy, but, once you get the hang of it, it'll look better and not sloppy at all. At least, that's how I got my style in flash in about 2 years. And this worked great for pivot to me.
Overall the animation was quite nice, but be sure to try to do as I just explained.

    Courtesy?

Edit: Cc means constructive critisism right?
Edit 2: For now I voted medium beginner. It was hard to judge on just one animation, so maybe it was the wrong choice.. :0

ok, the problems with the aniujmation were:
    -his arms were fairly stiff.
    -his back was stiff.
-also, his legs didn't look very good, didn't even look like he was running, it looked like a weird gravitational jump thing.
    -the physics were WAY off.
    -nothing looked eased.
thats all for now. medium beginner.
    courtesy?

    EDIT: voted medium beginner.

Ehm.. I don't think you can get courtesy by just saying how crap you think the animation is.. He asked for actual constructive critisism..

New one is nice. I c wat u did thar! Keep going like that. And keep on making easing tests. It's the only way

Hello, I am Opti. I will give you my constrcutive crticism.

    Easing Test:
    This Animations Rank: Medium/ High-Beginner.
Pors: I like the jump and the easing you gave it. The easing for the jump and the jump it self was really good. He fell really good and it looked nice. His arm looked really good when he fell. It was like it mas made of rubber, which gave the animation flow. I liked a lot of things in this animation.
Cons: It was 21 frames, I want a longer animation. His legs were very stiff when he fell or jumped, near the lower right of the screen. In mid flight, his arms were very stiff. The only cons I see are shortness and the animation had a lot of stiffness near the end. That's all.
Improvements: make the animation longer and make both oh his arms rubbery, lol.

    Test 35:
This Animations Rank: Medium/ High Beginner.
Pros: The animation looked good. Went smooth and had flow to it. The physics were pretty good, not the best, but good. The .1 second run looked nice.
Cons: It was much too fast. 22 frames. I didn't like how stiff his arms were, not a fan of that. When he fell, it looked like he moved up in the animation.
Him running_____His fall-----. Those are the levels that I saw. His physics on the fall could have had a bit more to it instead of Fall, no arm flops. Add arm flops and maybe a tremor. That'l look good. Good job.
Improvements: Already told you in the cons. Male the animation longer and improve the physics.

    Over-all, with 2 animations, I would say Medium/ High-Beginner.
They look good and I like the style that you use, keep going with it. Please make longer animations and add more stuffs. But these are just tests, but still, make longer animations.

Your running was pretty bad, not smoothed well, movements we're weird also, good try tought.
For your new one, it wasen't very well ease, and it's called movement spacing by the way.
The dude's movements we're a bit to fast and when he fell, it wasen't enough fast, try to work a bit on physics.
    I'd say you're Low-Medium beginner.

The running wasn't reallly good. I've seen you do much better. It looked like he was running. On the other hand, your easing test wasn't exactly overeased, so that's a plus. From that animation, the only flaw that I see is some shakyness. Nothing much though. I think you're medium-high beginner. Courtesy?

EDIT: Not shakyness sorry. Bad arm placement.

Med beginner, try practicing on your stiffness, and some easing.

Those Animations have Talent. But you rly have to work on your easing okay?
When you got it with the easing, you'll be cool
