    Re: Kieran's Thread

Hey Kieran, first thing, i like your animations. They aren't that bad but just need abit more easing...
Other than easing, all you need to work on is just try moving every joint per frame. Even if you barely move the joint, it still needs to be moved because the stickman will look kind of stiff. ALSO, on your walking gif, your front arm needs to be bent abit more and needs to be more fluid, the back leg looks abit shaky and the head of the stickman seems kind of stiff.

Just try and fix those problems and practise your easing, you could look at Darren's tut if you have problems, accept for i don't have the link for it. You'll have to find it. Bottom line, cool animations.

Courtesy? (Courtesy is where you comment on my thread because i gave you posivitive critism on yours.)

    Re: Kieran's Thread

hey, id say them are around med beginner? if you add more easing, then you'll be a higher rank, also you could do with smoothness, moving every joint in each frame would be a BIG help, it will look much more better. the joints in te animaion are quite stiff aswell, move them abit more freely, or fluidly. if you go back to darrens tutorials, they might just help you more

    courtesy?

    Re: Kieran's Thread

    You're definitely doing well.

I'm not going to talk about easing (since pretty much everyone else has covered that) but your stick figures are very stiff, especially in the head and back for all of your animations. Remember to move each joint to give the stick more flow.

Another problem you have is foot placement. It isn't so obvious in the walking animation, but it is in the other two. Make sure that if the foot is meant to stay in one place that it actually stays there, that's what the onion skin is there for. Also, I would make sure you have a floor stk for all of your animations, just to give you an idea where he foot should land when the stick figure is moving forward. (it looks like you ended a little high in your punch animation)

    You're off to a good start, I'd rate you a Low-Medium Beginner.
