    Re: Seperate animations

I assume you accidentally quoted yourself :P

Nice stuff, looks pretty good for a start. How long have you been animating?

Your main issue is choppiness/easing and stiffness. Try to space things properly in your animation, i.e. fast things get a wide space, and slower things get a smaller space. As far as easing:

Easing is when you space out the beginning and end parts of movements to make them appear more realistic.

As an example, if you were to say have someone wave, you wouldn't want to space their hand evenly the whole time.

    | represents the "waving hand" and the -- represents space the hand is moved each frame.

This is without easing, and looks weird:
    |--|--|--|--|--|

But with easing, it looks natural:
    |-|--|---|---|--|-|

As far as stiffness, ensure you're paying attention to every part of a stickman's body that should be moving. For your running animation (which I thought was your best) your stickman doesn't move up and down as he would in real life. Also, his back is completely stiff and doesn't move, but in real life every joint would move a little bit.

Check the tutorials for a bit more in depth explanations, but nice job for the first few animations :P

Used to animate a ton, and I'm just now getting back into it.

    Re: Seperate animations

Pivotslim, this is the second thread you created. It's against the rules to create more than one thread in beginners hall.
I've locked your other one, keep to this thread in the future.

Cool animations by the way, I like the attack moves you do, pretty original. The main aspect you need to work on is stiffness. In time you'll become better, just keep working at it.

    Re: Pivot Awesomeness

Think about your poses. You can't decently animate unless you know where to put those joints. In every single pose make sure it could be done in real life (to a certain extent). If you do this, your animations will look much cleaner and natural.

As for stiffness, make sure you move every joint every frame. Stiffness will basically be completely gone. But I like your ideas. You're creative.

Work on moving each joint every frame. It removes the stiff feeling.
    Also practice easing.

    Low beginner.
