Stiff AND choppy. try looking at my animation, look at how smooth it is.

It's not choppy and they go smooth, even with easing Do you want me to give you the pivot file?

Since when was it allowed to post your own animations in someone elses' threads?

Anyways, I see some potential, Jayson! There are aspects of the fire effect I thought was pretty great, but it looks like you're using flash? In which case I suggest using pivot, as this site is mainly based around pivot. It is also a much better software for getting started with animation in my opinion. At this point I think you should just keep animating, till you feel like you get the hang of it. Check out some tutorials on the basics, mainly easing and stiffness.

I agree with Talkie you just need more practice. Consider adding more frames in your movements and using some of the easing tips you will find all over the tuts sections. Also, remember that movement is a full body activity. Moving your arm requires you to move more than your arm, so when you animate, make sure that the whole body moves to support the movements you are trying to highlight. Hope this helps.

the launch of fire is slow, should be increasing
besides that's not pivot unless they are different sprites
