    A opinion (Not a complaint)

I'm sure we all know this is true.
Why do pivot animations HAVE to be realistic (Physics) to be considered good?
Like, its PIVOT, a animating program, we should be able to animate ANYTHING, as long as its smooth and eased, and get moved up. Why do we have to base our animations on real life? For example: Like, what if a dont want the bullet in my animation to go fast? Or, what if in my animation there only a bit of gravity. Alowing people to jump higher?

I'm sure we all know this is true. Its not a complaint, its a opinion.

Aniamtions should be a way to express NEW things, not to imitate real life.
    Right?

    ALSO
I saw pivot used in a commercial on TV! It was very stiff and choppy, im not lying! They used the pivot 2 default stk. You could tell it was pivot due to you could see where the joints moved, like, the curves wernt smooth. Im 99% sure it was pivot! Has anyone else seen this?

Re: A opinion (Not a complaint)

Correct grammar is "An opinion" not "a opininon".
And animations dont have to be realistic, there doesn't have to be physics. It's just when some people do it the animation ends up looking shit because they aren't very good at animating. You can have slow bullets and whatnot just make it look good, but people are going to see it as slow motion or something close. And by the way a lot of animation aren't realistic, and a lot of people prefer if it is realistic because it's easier to relate to. It's a lot harder to have a storyline if the animtion isn't realistic.

Animations don't have to be realistic to be good, they have to be good. In general. They can be unrealistic but it has to be done well.

    Look at Lewk.

    Julian.

    Slush.

    Etc etc.

    Also, pivot chat get.

This is a good thought Chain. But you can do anything you want with an animation if it looks nice. But i mean, theres like NO animations like that. I have only seen a couple. Like a part in Hopdiddy's "Psycho" series. He pulls a guys head off with barely any force at all. Then again the animation would look like crap if you didn't have momentum. And gravity. People just wouldn't except it unless the person who made it is a famous animator.

Re: A opinion (Not a complaint)

I think you're confused, maybe. Animations DON'T have to be realistic, but that is typically what most people animate for, in one way or another. Most people want their animations to be bound by the laws of physics, momentum, gravity, etc etc. Therefore, when someone views an animation, they usually expect to see those qualities. When they don't, they think it's wrong. Most people, anyway.

If you don't want to animate realistically, don't. Just tell someone first that you intentionally fucked up that animation, or if you're really creative, incorporate it somehow into the animation. That'd be cool as hell, and set you apart from 99% of the other animators around.

They dont, But it shows more skill if its realistic.

realism is the hardest thing to capture, since animation iscomputer made and life isnt made by frames, so generally it takes more skill.

and i call the BS on commerical thingy.
