    Propelling upwards

Right, so I'm sorta stuck with this animation I'm doing. I need my stickman to be propelled upwards, the origin is the point of contact. Could someone animate an example or something so I got an idea, because I really can't get it to work and my mind's gone dead by now.

    Thanks in advance.

PS: The guy pulling it off correctly will see the animation I'm doing, I would call it my best animation by far and it's 52 frames long so far, guess it could be called a little price, but just see it as a thank-you .

    Uh, hi. I do stuff.

Doesn't matter, my stickman's walking and should propel up with a speed launching him twice his body height, you'll see the cause once the animation's finished.

Yeah sorta like that. I feel something is lacking there though, I'll wait a bit and see if other people make some, if there's nothing better I'll send you the preview

That seems pretty accurate although he stoped the sideways movement.

I feel like something should happen in his spine or such though, I don't know, but with everything I try, it feels like it misses something, and I really tried a lot of things already, just thought other people might just know what it needs, since they think differently from me.

Hypo did a good job, but yeah lost momentum for some reason and stopped moving horizontally.

It's kinda hard to know how to animate if you don't know the context. I know this is way out of proportion, but search up blob launch videos on youtube. Those people go flying straight up into the air

You can bend the back if you want more ragdollsih reaction.
When i have problems with reactions i just trail all the joints as hards as possible exept for the one where the force hits, so its just like a totaly loose ragdoll would react then just stiffen the reaction to look natural.

    Re: Propelling upwards

Well, I tried the ragdoll thing before you even mentioned it and it looked lame as hell. I'll check out the vid the other guy mentioned next week, because this week I'll be in NYC. So yeah, feel free to debate it out a bit more and animate some for it if you want. G'luck all, I'll be off now.

    Uh, hi. I do stuff.
