Giving criticism and some ideas on how to improve

Alright, on my years here at DD I have gotten and noticed some really bad criticism given.

    EX: 1. work on movements
EX: 2. Its sorta choppy add some more frames
EX: 3. keep working you'll get better (lol)

These simply do nothing for the person who is asking for help. Here are some tips on giving criticism.

    Tips on criticism

    1. Don't ever be lazy with it, dont make it short You've obviously gone to that persons thread for a reason, you might as well serve a purpose. Don't cheap out on the quality of the criticism either, You will be tempted but dont.
    2. Think logically about the criticism you are giving them, would that help you if you were in that same situation?
    3. Be creative and try new animation techniques with them, If you think it sounds good in your head why not tell them?

Subjects to improve on and some ideas on ways to improve.

Choppy-ness: A choppy animation is when the movements jerk, or they jump from one space to another You have to much space in between the movements.
Idea: Push the FPS bar all the way to the top and try to make the animation look smooth, This takes alot more concentration that you would think. Another is after you've made your movement look at it and change the frames that jerk and flop into the overall goal of that movement.

Easing: Easing is pretty much inertia, In reality an object cannot start out going super fast, so it has to start out slow and gain momentum, This is easing. Starting out slowly speeding up and then ending slowly, It is a very important principle of animation and in life.
Idea: Well you should basically know how to ease, If you dont already; Click Here.Back to my idea. Make an animation using ONLY easing, every single movement MUST be eased or you MUST restart the entire animation. Yes this is tough and an unforgiving process, but damn it will get you easing. But during this process you will start focusing on the animation and not the easing, DON'T do this, then you will have to restart =[

Effects: The use of blasts, fire, water, particles, shadows, light castings, transparency ETC.
Idea: A very basic idea is to make many test's using shadows, this is a difficult task but very helpful and appealing to the eyes. A transparency tutorial can be found Here.
And various other effect tutorials can be found Here.

    Cinematics:
The use of camera angles and 3d, Also the storyline may be considered cinematic.
Idea: Make simple 3-d box transformation. Have a box from the front, circle around seeing all angle's of it. I would suggest making a new stk every frame.

    Fluidity:
The look of viscosity, or how water like the human body looks. A good animation of that is Theories05 "suckage"
Idea: Obviously make an animation using lots of bends and flips, Bend the back joint the most you can, and rotate between bending the back and bending the other joints.

Physics: The correct use of gravity and inertia and spacing.
Idea: Create a beam about this size Click here for picture and place it above your stks head, where you think the very maximum of gravity to his jump or flip is, like so Here. So that if he goes past the maximum of gravity, you can tell. Here

Random plugs...maybe not so "random" =P theres to many O_o

Nice explained, great how somebody finally thought something about this : P

    - But remember, people can't always go and give CC all the time cause after some weeks, they gon' be lazy and wont review peoples thread anymore (like me, I got tiered of giving people CC, so these days, I'm just giving short comments, that can also help).

EDIT: people on that list are famous right ?

I actually had barri up there for thread plugs lol. Most of the plugs are just my favorite animators/friends, Ill put up a few more, thanks for the comments. Ima add physics to the tutorial also.
