Howesy Running Tut - 2 Types Of Runs

    Howesy's Running Tut
Hey Guys, this is my first pivot tut, so if it isn't that good, then sorry.

Well the first type of run is pretty simple, its called the arms behind back run.
The reason its simple is because there is no use of having to move the arms in or out.
Here is a gif of the running.

Frame 1: Your guys back leg should be bent upwards quite alot. His arms should be slightly slanted upwards.

Frame 2: Your back leg comes into your front leg, the front leg should also move the opposite way the left is going, Keep the front leg straight also. ( please remember to make sure it doesnt look like your guys feet are tip toeing, make sure you put them pretty horizontal.)
As for the arms, Put both of them down slightly, and bend them a tiny bit. Also, bend the top of his back a bit, and make the bottom of the back come backwards slightly

Frame 3: Bend the arms slightly more and make them go down ever so slightly. Repeat what you did with the last frame for the back but this time, lift his head up a little bit. As for the legs, they now switch over, the back leg should still stay straigh, but the front leg should now bend downwards slightly and should come foward a bit.

Frame 4 : Your guy now becomes airbourbe (kinda) Both feet lift up from the air, the back one should now slightly bend, the front should bend upwards slightly and the upper part should come up alot. The arms should now be coming back upwards and straightening. As for the back, it should now lean fowards and the upper half should hunch over slightly.
    http://www.filecram.com/files/Arms_Better3.bmp
Frame 5: Continue what you did in the last frame, but this time bring the arms upwards a bit more.
    http://www.filecram.com/files/Arms_Better4.bmp
Frame 6 Now, do everything you did in the last frames, but instead; bring the front leg downwards.
    http://www.filecram.com/files/Arms_Better5.bmp
Frame 7 Now make the back come backwards a bit more and make the back leg lift up alot more, and make the lower leg bend alot. As for the arms, bring them up as much as you need to make them fit in with the first frame, so if your arm is alot higher that the arm in the first frame, bring it down so it is closer to the arm in the first frame.

    Speed Run
This next run is awfully simple, but it is very effective in speedy/fast paced animations.

Frame 1: Your Guy is quite hunched over his arms are both bent and his legs are both stretch way out.
    http://www.filecram.com/files/Speedy0.bmp
Frame 2:Lean your guy fowards slightly and bring his arms in quite a bit, also bend the arms downwards. As for the legs, you should bring both of those in aswell, and bend them the way you think is necessary.

Frame 3 All the limbs come in, the body leans foward slightly ( again ), and the legs stay bent.(make sure the feet are touching the floor.)
    http://www.filecram.com/files/Speedy3.bmp
    Frame 4 Repeat frame 2.

    Frame 5 Repeat frame 1

Nice tut, well explained, although I thought the first run looked kind of...pooey lol. I think you should only have the arms right up behind his back if he's running super fast, but I guess that's just my opinion. And a bit of onion skin could be quite helpful.

Really nice tut though, should help alot of beginners (like meh! )

well the running is good. the back seems very stiff on the first one. on the second run it still looks abit stiff but its less noticable.so the second run is better =D

im sure this will help people though.

Not bad. But the First one looks weird because his arms kinda twitch :\.
    But it should be helpful.

his arms should be parallel to the ground
so they should be pointing towards the side , not the sky , and the speed run , is actually quite slow.
    but good tuts nonetheless.
