    smoothness tut

well i dunno if im really good enough to write a tut, but w/e...

i realised that a lot of n00bs, like me when i first started, dont understand the meaning of smoothness.

most of us think that the more frames we use for a single action the smoother it is, but this isnt recessarily true. let me explain...

say we wanted to animate a car moving across the animation from one side to the other. To make it smooth we use 10 frames for it to come onto the stage and go off, but using so many frames makes the car 'crawl' across the stage.

    so what do we do?
if we use less frames it means it would be faster but it wont be smooth and become choppy, right? wrong.

the true meaning of smoothness is to animate each slide so that there is an equal amount of time between each of the slides...

    for example...
using the example above, the car takes 10 slides to get across the stage. To make it twice as fast, we would need to delete 5 slides.
but this isnt any 5 slides. To make it smooth, you would need to delete slides-
    2, 4, 6, 8 and 10.
    leaving you with slides-
    1, 3, 5, 7 and 9.

Since there is a 'pattern' in the new combination of slides, it should play smooth and also fast.

however if you deleted slides, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 for example. the animation would play slow and smooth, but it will be choppy near the end.

i hope that helped people, send me a reply if you have any questions

That was nice. It also takes practice. But I think that'll help alot of people. I'm sure I'm gonna think about that when animating.
