    High quality gifs

    I'd like to know, so that the header for pivotblog.org can have animation in it, but still keep the quality of the original title in there

    all help is appreciated, thanks.

    There might be. GIF only uses 200 something (I think it's 256 but not sure) colors which is why when animations have colors not recognized by the GIF format they get changed into something that the format recognizes. But there might be a way because if you look at this gif:
    styles/bo2Soft/theme/images/alt.gif
    It's smooth. If your using photoshop, I know it gives you settings when saving GIFs.

    if you save it correctly, a gif can be as high quality as a jpeg.
    as long as it dosnt have colors TOTALLY not supported, like completly custom colors.

    Like Supra said, most image editing programs save their gifs at a high quality. Almost identical to any other image format. You can load most video formats into Image Ready, and save it as an animated gif. Frylock made a tutorial for doing exactly this kind of stuff, but I'll have to look around for it.
