    Flash CS3 Problem: Buttons

    Well, I tried to make a button but a weird thing occured.

    I made the button, right-clicked it, and these were my settings:

    Then I went to Action panel using F9, I wanted to put in the script but got this:

    For the first screenshot, just click the "basic" button. I dunno about the second one, try making sure the button is selected. I don't even think you can add AS to buttons, I could be thinking about something else though.

    Well I went to action panel to do this tiny tiny bit of scripting:
    Code:
    on(release){
    gotoAndPlay(2);
    }
    Code:
    stop () ;

    Looks like you're in an Actionscript 3 document. The script you're wanting can only be used with an AS2 file, AS3 only operates through timelines and external files. Try searching for AS3 buttons if you're wanting to stick to what you have.
