    Matsui M32LW409 32" LCD TV

Im not 100% sure this is the right section for this so feel free to move

Ok, so im thinking about getting an LCD tv.

Only im not so good with all the tv jargon so i was hoping that someone here with experience could help me out. I was thinking about buying that tv i gave you the link to. But can you please tell me whether for example a 1,000:1 contrast ratio is good...

Im a real noob with tv's and aspect ratios etc so anything you know will help me alot.

Well the colour contrast on my tv is 40,000:1, so I'd imagine 1,000 is shit >_>

    Yeah.... it's not good.

Generally a 1000:1 ratio is not that great nowadays. You can find 17" or 18" going around the same price range that have ratios of 10000:1.

Mine is actually a pretty nice monitor, being at a good 22". Here's a link to what I got.

    This is my monitor yo.

It's a good monitor that shows everything beautifully. All it really depends on is your preference.

So yeah, go higher on that pixel ratio man.

And there's skype to piss on us all with his 40000 contrasts!

Hmmm, thanks, I knew there had to be something wrong. Thanks.
I will check out that link tomorrow as I'm on my iPod touch right now so it would just be annoying.

edit: Hbz, I took a quick look at that and it's comparability just says "pc" is it a moniter or a tv? I am looking for a tv for watching shows and playing xbox on... Will this work?

Also, I play xbox and am quite good and I've heard people talk about reaction times. What is good and bad? I'm presuming 5ms is good?

Yeah, you can use both a TV or a LCD Monitor for your needs.

All you need to hook up your 360 onto a Monitor is to get a VGA input cable.

    Here's a link to one I found:
    VGA Input Cable

That's just what I think you should do. You can get either a HDTV or a LCD Monitor. I find however that LCDs are less expensive than HDTVs.

    Whatever works for you.

How much are you looking at spending, what is your limit?
By the way, that TV is shit, it has hardly any inputs, the contrast ratio is tiny and the brightness is crap, so it will be hard to see with the sun shining on it.

Does it matter if isn't quite full HD?
If not then this would be a good buy:

Check it out, or check local prices for the same product, see if you can get a good deal.
