    Firefox error popups

Hey, I'm using Windows XP with Firefox 3.0.10. My internet's a bit iffy so sometimes a page load error occurs, generally a network times out, sometimes 'The network was reset while the page was loading'. Generally this is fine and dandy, I just click try again. 2 days ago this suddenly stopped working, and now as supposed to showing the error page it'll show an alert which I have no choice but to click OK to. This is annoying as I can't do anything with FF until I click OK, nor can I try again if I've lost the page URL.
I have no clue what caused this, it just suddenly stopped working and I don't know why.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Have you tried re-installing FF?

Yeah, unfortunately it did nothing to help, even if I installed a previous or future beta release of FF it showed up on error messages.
