    Xbox 360 network connection problems...

We recently got this new Internet service and a new wireless router. All the computers seemed to connect properly to the network fairly easily, except for the Xbox. Everytime I turned on the 360 and it would try to connect to the network, the router would screw up and all the computers on the network would disconnect.

When connected to the internet, the "Power", "DSL", and "PPP" lights are all lit up green. However, when I turn on the Xbox, the lights would all black out shortly, before the "Power" light becomes red and the DSL and PPP lights start flashing randomly.

Somehow, my dad managed to fix it, except the network would stlll go down everytime the 360 AND any computer on the network were trying to connect at the same time. I assumed that the router couldn't handle the information coming from the computer and the Xbox at the same time.

However recently, my family installed Foxtel, and somehow the Xbox just refuses to connect to the router. Every time I turn on the Xbox, the router just stuffs up, and I have to turn the 360 off again for everything to work normally. It's virtually the same problem as before, except my dad's gone on a business trip and I have no idea how to fix the network.

So, if anyone could offer any advice on how to get the Xbox connected to the network, and then connected to the web, it'd be much appreciated.

Do you have an adapter? If you don't then the Xbox360 can't pick up the router.

No, I have a router. I've been on Xbox Live since last December until the problem started.

I would suggest a wireless adapter.

Run the connection diagnostics on the xbox to try and reduce where the problem might be first of all.

You need an adapter for the xbox to pick up the signal from the router.

If he's been on xbox live that means it already works you idiot, the problem is his xbox is cutting out the connection for everything else, and NOW it wont connect.

    Suggestion:

Buy a 40 ft. Ethernet cable and hook one end into the router as long as your router is hooked up to something like a DSL router and run the cord from the room with the router to the Xbox.

That should guarantee connection most likely because that's what I do to play my Xbox Live.
